Volunteer

Everything that SNNA is able to accomplish is made possible through the hard work of volunteers, working in our five different committees. Each one plays a unique role in shaping this neighborhood — and you could be a part of that!

Beautification

Making the streets and alleyways more appealing.

In 2024, the Beautification Committee planted 50 trees, installed six neighborhood trash cans, organized two cleanups.

Communication

Notifying neighbors of events, meetings, and other important neighborhood information.

In 2024, the Communication Committee created the first-ever survey, posted over 100 social event flyers in the neighborhood, and engaged more than 80+ members on a weekly basis.

Membership

Encouraging membership to allow for increased funding for events and special projects as well as voting in elections.

In 2024, paid memberships increased to 46. The goal for 2025 is to increase membership to 75 households, establish a corporate/business membership model, develop a new neighbor program, and other perks.

Safety

Identifying and addressing safety concerns in the neighborhood.

In 2024, the Safety Committee worked with government officials concerning street lighting and safety concerns as well as streets to be analyzed for traffic calming projects.

Social

Bringing neighbors together through social events.

In 2024, the Social Committee hosted more than 25 social events, raised $500+ for an animal rescue in Asheville, brought over 150 neighbors together for our summer kickoff party, and raised $4,000 for the Hall Family after a fire destroyed their home.
